Paro Festival Cultural Tour

The highlights of Bhutan - Paro, Thimphu, Punakha, and eastern Himalayas - plus the awesome annual Paro Festival! Combine with a few days in Nepal for a fabulous Himalayan smorgesbord experience. Visit chortens, monasteries, libraries, crafts, painting, and woodworking schools; tour bazaars and handicrafts workshops, forts, museums, nummeries, and the famolus "Tiger's Nest".

Itinerary

Day 1
Fly Bangkok to Paro Bhutan. During the flight, you will see breathtaking views of Mount Everest, Kanchenjunga and other famous Himalayan peaks, including the sacred Mount Jhomolhari and Jitchu Drake in Bhutan. On arrival at Paro International Airport, you will be received by the representative of Bae-yul Excursions. O/n hotel.

Day 2
Paro sightseeing, including the national museum, Paro Dzong, views of sacred Mount Jholmohari, a visit to a Bhutanese farm house, and more.

Day 3
Attend Paro Festival

Day 4
Attend Paro Festival

Day 5
Drive to Thimphu, sightseeing includes the national library, painting school, handicrafts emporium, the oldest dzong and the seat of government, Pangri Zampa monastery.

Day 6
Road trip to Punakha, the Winter capital set beterrn two rivers. Great views en route, and a stop at Wangdiphodrung Dzong, a hilltop castle.

Day 7
Drive back to Thimphu. Afternoon free for shopping in the markets or strolling the town.

Day 8
Day trip to Taktsang, the Tiger's Nest Monastery. The monastery is perched on a rocky ledge with a sheer drop of nearly 4,000 feet. In the 8th century, Guru Padmasambhava flew here on a tiger's back to found the monastery.

Day 9
Depart Paro for Bangkok, and continue home.
